Fun Fair is coming!!
Our very popular, end of school year carnival celebration, Fun Fair is quickly approaching. It will be held our last day of school, Wednesday June 12th. We will be planning for this event at our upcoming PAAPO meeting on Tuesday, May 14th at 6:00 pm. Look for information and sign-up sheets on the PAAPO bulletin board outside the 5th grade classroom. We need to have maximum parental involvement/donations to insure this is a successful event. This day of fun celebrates the culmination of the hard work of our students.
Team PAAPO Needs You!!
We are now accepting nominations for the PAAPO Executive Board for the 2013/14 school year. The following positions are available:
*President: The President presides over all executive board meetings and general membership meetings (2 meetings/month). This is a great position for someone with strong communication and organizational skills.
*Vice President: The Vice President assists the President, serves in presidential capacity in the absence of President. The Vice President is an ex-officio member of all committees.
*Recording Secretary: The Recording Secretary takes notes during the executive board meetings and general membership meetings.
*Correspondence Secretary: The Correspondence Secretary generates all communications for PAAPO, including our newsletter Tiger Tales.
*Treasurer: The Treasurer is responsible for all financial affairs and funds of the organization.
We will be holding elections at our last meeting of the year, on Tuesday, June 4th at 6:00 pm. To arrange a job shadow or for more information contact Debra Carroll at 503.915.8663 or firstname.lastname@example.org
***IMPORTANT*** If we do not fill these board positions we will be forced to dissolve our parent organization per the bylaws. Please consider volunteering your time so that we may continue to provide an enriching, well-rounded, educational experience for our kids!!
PAAPO would like to thank Heather Edwards, Charmin Wagstaff, and Marina Schilling for heading our Spring Book Fair and Grand Event Breakfast. Thanks to the many families that participated in set-up, cashiering, clean-up, and breakfast donations!! Proceeds from this event help us to maintain our parent-sponsored library!!
Save the Date: Back to School Summer Potluck Picnic
PAAPO will be hosting our annual summer potluck picnic at Mt. Scott park on Saturday, August 24th. This is a great time to reconnect with old friends and teaching staff after a long summer break. Kindergarten families are encouraged to attend to meet their new teacher and make new friends. Watch for details coming soon!
Lost and Found
Is you child missing something?? We are accumulating a lot of coats, sweatshirts, and water bottles in our lost and found bin located outside the 5th grade class. Please sure to stop by and check the bin periodically. Items will be cleared out monthly and donated.
Ink Cartridge Recycle
We are collecting empty ink cartridges to redeem for store credit at Office Depot. We receive $2/cartridge. Please be sure to deposit your old ink cartridges in the blue tote outside the 3rd grade classroom. Questions? Contact our office manager, Salina Scott.
Sunny Delight and Box Tops
We are still collecting Sunny Delight labels and Box Tops/Labels for Education. There are marked boxes for collection in each classroom. These fundraisers are significant and will have direct impact on your child’s classroom. We recently redeemed our Sunny Delight labels for 80 books, 4 classroom sets. We will continue to collect these labels throughout the year…so be sure to make regular deposits!! Questions?
